What MRU gives you, and what it leaves to you

MRU gives you the courses, the approval, Typhon for your logs and American Data Bank for clearance. The preceptor is yours to find: the catalog says so for the MSN-FNP, the FNP, PMHNP and AGACNP certificates and the new leadership MSN. If you don't bring one, MRU appoints one for its one-time Practicum Affiliation Fee, which is waived only when you secure an approved preceptor yourself.

That search is where semesters slip. Clinics say no, Florida sites need a Florida-licensed preceptor, and every hour, log and signature has to be done by the course's last day. We work on the front of that chain: finding preceptors who fit the course and getting their details ready for MRU's approval.

Before you start

Does MRU find preceptors for FNP students?

Not by default. MRU's catalog says students are required to secure their own preceptor, and MRU approves that preceptor before the preceptorship starts. A student who doesn't bring one is appointed one by MRU for an additional fee, the Practicum Affiliation Fee. See MRU-assigned or your own.

What exactly do you do?

We look for preceptors and sites that fit your MRU course, collect the preceptor details and credentials MRU checks, and look again if a preceptor drops. How it works walks through each step, and the cost page explains what shapes a quote.

Will MRU accept a preceptor you find?

MRU gives the final approval. The Office of Academic Affairs approves preceptors for the FNP and AGACNP tracks, and other programs name a coordinator or faculty. We find preceptors who fit the course and, at Florida sites, hold a Florida license, and we make sure what reaches MRU is complete and fits its rules the first time.

I study online from outside Florida. Can you help?

How early should I start looking?
